SE NE | We are a young couple who is looking to diversify our farm. We currently farm 80 acres and also do custom farming. Silage, drilling, fertilizing, and planting. The custom work keeps us pretty busy when in season. We need a full time hired man from August to December, but can't justify it for a whole year. I have always kicked around the idea of chickens and recently had a company approach us about doing it. I'm still working on the numbers but it looks like a good way to keep a hired man on full time. Any advice from those of you who have had chickens or are currently in the business. I have looked around on NAT but nothing really recent.
Sorry to be blunt but I'm not interested in your advice if your not in the poultry business. I have read so many threads about what the neighbors did or some guys in the area. I want opinions from those who have been there done that. | |
