If you stay away from the real extreme looking ones they should be ok. Our club calves always gain good and they are never on very hot ration (won't grow hair on a hot ration). Watch out for legs that are too straight they can get worse and end up lame. Also watch out for anything that just doesn't look right, funny shaped head, tight hided, etc.


Edited to add. Also watch out for the ones that are too fat and or too muscular sometimes they are over implanted to get them to look good for a club calf sale and they peak early and won't perform.
