You may consider invitro as well.     There you need to give your cow only a low dose of hormone, and they suck the ripe eggs off from the ovary, and fertilize in a lab, and incubate the eggs for 7 days, before placing them in a surrogate cow.  The upfront costs are more, but they can be pregnant when the procedure is performed, and now those eggs can be frozen with very good results.  Yes, I would try conventional embryo transfer first, as you may have a cow respond well, but being old, the number of viable eggs is diminishing for sure.  Depends how badly you want to transfer on those genes.  Costs vary greatly, and if you are lucky in setting up surrogate mothers in sync with your donor cow, then freezing costs and additional trip charges are saved, as well as higher pregnancy rates.  $500/pregnancy is a reasonable estimate , but again, it can and will vary greatly even when using the same vet.  Good luck to you
