Subject: RE: Travel to Australia

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
Wife and I went to Australia a few years ago and want to go back sometime. We did a land tour through Princess cruises. Flew 13 hours from L.A. to Sydney. Yes, it's a marathon! Stayed in Sydney a couple of days and flew to Ayers Rock then bussed over to Alice Springs then flew to Cairns to see the Great Barrier Reef. From there it was back to Sydney. Boarded ship and went to Melbourne, Tasmania then New Zealand. Fantastic trip.
I would like to do a driving tour of Australia but I'm not sure I could adapt to driving on the left side of the highway. When we go back we plan to take a land tour by bus.
I like the tour route instead of seeing it on your own. The guides can tell you about so much that you would miss on your own. Key is to have a small group. I think there was about 15 couples in our group.
