Ratio of total weights is
SW Ont
same as ratio of total lengths.
10/25's on one end, 15/25's on the other
(giving the same 40% - 60% split as posted above
)
In order for the walking beam to balance, force x length on each end must be equal.
The short end carries 60% and the long end carries 40%.
As a check:
10 x 60 = 600
15 x 40 = 600
