Think of it as matching torque at the pivot. Force times distance from the pivot on each arm. You have one arm 15" and the other 10 inches. If you put ten pounds on the 10 inch arm that's 100 inch pounds. the force to balance on the other arm is 100 divided by 15 or 6-2/3 pounds. So the total load in the suspension is 16.667 pounds, 10 over 16.6667 one one arm, 6.6667/ 16.6667 on the other arm 60% and 40% in round numbers.
