Eastern Oregon | As the oldest son of a 30 year-old cow calf operations, I have often pondered why my dad has stuck with his cows through thick and thin. There is a definite emotional attachment to the animals. After years and years of selective breeding and struggling, he takes great pride in the accomplishment of topping the local auction. It's a passion that you have or in my case, I'd rather farm. I am grateful for those that have the passion every time I enjoy a nice steak. | |
