East-Central Ontario | I think you remember how, until quite recently, the overwhelming attraction in cow calf in Ontario was the perceived "fringe" tax benefits - farm plates, write off a $40,000 truck to drive to and from work, ATV, shop full of wood-working tools, hunting property included, etc etc. All applied rather dubiously of course, and there are still a lot of those operators out there. Maybe this run will result in a resurgence of the more business-like approaches like yours, I hope so, but only time will tell. | |
