southern MN | Certainly there are trade offs.
I get 7meg DSL on the landline for, oh, $40-50 or so a month, tied in with phone bill so I forget. They don't have a specified data limit.
With a little effort you can find 75% of what you want to watch on the Internet. Abc and other networks have apps to download and watch many of the nightly shows a week after they air.
It appears most Duck Dynasty's are available on the A&E site here for watching:

You will lose out on some sports, and you will lose out on the scheduled, structured, sit down at a certain time each week and push a button convenience. On the other hand you can watch the shows you want when you want, so that can be a positive convenience.
Myself I prefer the TV schedule too and mindlessly push the next button..... but when it costs $80 a month plus, and any more it is paid programming for 8 hours a night per channel, does a person get their money's worth from that either?
We have cable, but just if you look around you can find mostly free alternatives is all.
