Chicken parm done properly is awfully good. That one looks like perfection! Not real sure about a favorite meal, maybe I'll just post a few fun ones from the last year or so to get me back in the mood. This should set the proper mood (and temperature)- how can you beat garden-fresh fried green tomatoes, freezer beef that didn't come from the grocery store, and sweet corn that was just picked 20 minutes ago? Gotta make Reubens for the week of St. Pattys day. Smoked stuffed meatloaf with cedar-planked mashed potatoes. Definite crowd pleaser. Breakfast peppers stuffed with sausage and scrambled eggs. Chops with pear vinaigrette and brussel sprouts cooked in bacon grease. Ribs and a mojito... can we fast-forward to summer yet? Pepper Stout Beef. I'm not sure if there is a finer way to create sammich meat. Did I mention ribs yet? Chili made from leftover pulled pork, with corn bread and a Blue Moon. Pretty good snowy day meal. Tri-tip for some reason is a difficult cut of beef to find in Iowa (Costco usually has it) But it makes some excellent sammiches too. Short ribs for Christmas might be a bit unconventional, but it was yummy. Blueberry cheesecake for dessert. |
