Subject: Re: Wtf is with western canadian grain handling system

Why is anyone surprize at the grain handling problems. It about making money
for both railways and elevator system. If you follow the business news and
listen to the Hunter ? story, you can understand the system. He was head
of CN and look how they handle grain movement. Now head of CP and doing the
same. I think when he got the job, his comment was in 5years he could be
return 50% of gross revenue to shareholders. Think he has done in 2 years.
He is the top paid CEO in Canada at something like 54M and share valve has
doubled. You can't do that without cutting into service. He isn't going
to move more grain if he can't make more profit. Better to keep the same as
last year, or maybe next year that increase rolling stock and staff. My
guess that they will be going after a big increase in rates, if too many
complain. Just look at elevator system they have increase they handling
rates for 50 to 300% increase. Only have to handle half the grain to
make more money.
As for CWB grain. must was shipping. Least year elevator charge 10/tonne.
this year it is over 30/tonne. please explain that mennoboy.
