W. Canada | I agree, it is a mess.
Personally from a farmer's stand point I am hoping for lower oil prices and for the currency to fall even more. Lower oil prices should help bring the currency down as well. That should help improve basis levels. Futures still seem ok, but there is no money to be made with the cash bids currently. But like others have said, it is only to discourage delivery. Because I think basis levels will strongly improve in the future, I have considered hedging grain on the futures market instead of contracting. | |
