Subject: Re: New bearing race turns in hub

I had a hub once that had wore, It was the weekend, needed to get running. I took a metal coffee can and cut a strip of tin out of it, it had the natural curve already pressed into it. Just cut and fit it with tin snips and hammer. Cheap shim stock, to get you running. Older beer cans from the 80's and 90's work good for shim stock as well. The new ones you can put your finger though them. I also used that trick to fix a buddy's gear case on a pto drive post hole auger. I used a tuna can that day, he is still running it that way today.
