With ruts, I run a small disc to refill the worst one, but I seldom have ruts anymore. As far as compaction, because the soil bulk density has been so changed by no-till, compaction is no longer an issue. It also does not hurt that the fields get travelled on a maximum of three times a season, with different machines each time.
