In the last decade, on a farm with 3 tractors, I have replaced 3 steel lines that rusted out, and 0 hoses, and all those original hoses (oldest is an '82 model) still look pretty good. That's not to say you or someone else hasn't had the opposite luck, but in my case, the scoreboard says 3 to nothing.
