replace both lines and insulation. Easy, but take your time on the install.
This is no joke. It's a two piece line. On mine (actually a 4240, but practically the same), the upper one rusted out 5 years ago. I just got to repeat the repair last week, as the lower one rusted out. 30 years is just about as long as they last.
Take your time, and be gentle getting the fitting loose at the top. They can be a bear. May want to let penetrating oil start soaking in immediately and work on it in a few days, if you can be without it that long. |
