Subject: The power of zeros

Nebraska aka the boondocks
I have to wonder what people are doing with all the PP and P's, prevent plant and potholes. Let us look at how zeros whack your yields. A pivot with the corners burned up, example 1. 160 acres at what you think is 200, but the corners are toast. 4 corners of 5 acres each at zero leaves you 140 acres, so your 32000 bushels becomes 28,000 and your 200 avg. becomes 175. Now what about all the PP and P's, well nobody will tell us. But lets say you are figuring 88 million harvested at 160. And lets assume 4 million of PP and P which are by definition zeros. 84/ 88= 95.45% and so what was 88 * 160, or 14.08 billion is now 13.439 billion. You can see how this can really wreck the train. When you toss in the toasted areas, the denitrified areas and all the other areas, those good area must really be good. I really don't see how anyone is accounting for this in their numbers.
