Being on MN, I have no concept of your climate....

You can plant rye darn near to freezing and it will sprout and grow a tad, the trouble is for grazing you need some growth on it. That takes time and some favorable weather.

Going to be hard to get a useful number in your case, it just will depend on the fall weather.

Here where I live, we harvest about at the first frost, and soon after we freeze up for good, so there is no chance for a second crop to grow, it is rare to see 70 degrees after harvest starts.
