In the age of college trained "linemen" and "electricians" barely smart enough to drag a roll of Romex thru a stud wall, the answers you received don't surprize me.

Given the short term and seasonal load conditions you'll be supporting, it well might be more cost effective for you to generate your own electrons from Diesel fuel, especially if you'll be paying Demand and Availability charges.
