Southern Highlands of Tanzania, East Africa
Thanks for your input. The potassium is sitting at 6-8%. Might do as you say and do some strips with extra K and watch. Nodulation was v.poor even last year (2012 crop) where we opted for no fert on our soyas. The yield result was horrible at less than 2t/ha.The previous season (2011 crop) we had had a bad experience by pumping them up with lots of fert as sidedressing (various nutrients).

The leaf analysis at flowering was-Nitrogen, 3.33% (2.1% on the poor yielding). Phosphate 0.28%, Potassium 1.06%, Calcium 2.1%(1.7% on low yielding), Magnesium 0.59%. Micronutrients were ample. Boron was high at 88ppm and Zinc at 143ppm. We normally have a low boron level in our corn (6.6ppm) which we never really get on top of. Boron is consistently high for soyas.

Any more thoughts/considerations?
Otto
