Subject: Re: Grazing forage soybeans

NW Illinois Stephenson county
One wet year a friend's soybeans did not produce pods due to frost. He mowed them and bagged them, filling some into a wagon and chopping corn on top of them. It ended up to be a poorly mixed and sometimes he got more soylage than other times. He claimed the soylage was very rich and his dairy cows would squirt manure when fed too much of it at a time. You might need to be careful when grazing it. Or maybe consider a grazing corn and strip graze it. Masters Choice has grazing corn and so does these guys http://www.raybrothersseedfarms.com/bmr-forage-corn/. Corn likes hot weather and still grows at cooler temperatures. Just a thought,I have never done this.
