East Central Illinois. 39.346676, -87.653484 | I haul liquid manure from my hog farm to field(s) along 2 lane state highway... turning left is tricky to say the least.
I do NOT run flashers, because then people disregard the turn signal flashing.
Crowd the center-line as far in advance as possible, assuming no oncoming traffic, to deter passing and make my intentions clear.
Last fall a city transplant truck-full of wizards passed me on the left as I was turning with a loaded 6000gal manure wagon, upon recovering onto the road they spun around and came back to kick my butt.. the crescent wrench in my manure covered fist and bulging veins made them think twice (although the two buddies that followed me into the field entrance is more likely what caused them to turn around and be on their way.) |
