West Tennessee
Like i said in a previous post, we probably over kill on mass treating. We have not always done that. In the past we mass treated at the first round of vaccines. Not anymore. We'll hit em with draxxin or zactran on the first round, along with our vaccination program, and along with the second shots, we'll hit em again with micotil or exceed. We still have some pulls, however our number of pulls have decreased. We are buying cattle weighing 400-500# and those first 30-45 days are critical.

We had a "wreck" about four years ago where we lost like 3-3.5%. Back then we had the attitude that "awe he's a little slow coming in, we'll see what he looks like tomorrow." Well it bit us. Since then, if we have any notion that he may be breaking, we'll hit him then. We tend to err on the side of caution. Some you save, and some you dont. Don't misunderstand me, luck plays into it as well!

Our program works for us, and it may not work for someone else.
