Subject: How did all the "beacon" comments start?



Seems like every thread these days has someone mentioning a beacon.

Now I've been following NAT for years, but I can't recall when it became such a joke. What was the memorable thread that started it? I think it might have had something to do with combines, and probably BTO's.



As an aside I always believed a beacon was normal. To me it serves two purposes - safety on the roads and communication in the fields (before the era of cell phones). So all these remarks are lame to me.
