ncia | tommy, i had 2 of my children attend iowa private colleges. Northwestern at orange city and Luther at decorah. At the time my income was low enough that we qualified for iowa tuition grant. Most students in iowa except VERY wealthy get this. Our total package to a private college was affordable. Iowa has good public universities, but (from what i've heard) there financial aid is less along with the cost of attending and consequently out of pocket costs were very similar.
One of nt childrendid play 4 years of basketball and was receiving $3000/year scholarship. That was helpful to the total package, but I will say that if they worked the amount of time that they spent practicing ANd traveling they woould have had just as much money. | |
