Iowa | Thanks for the link. Education is just like everything else in life, some can do it cheaper than others. Used books, books from friends, cook meals rather than eat out, live in a "not terribly nice" place, etc, etc, just like life in general, it's possible to beat the average. It would be in the university's best interest to estimate on the high side...
From what I understand, public education in Illinois is high-that's why Iowa State has so many Illinois farm boys-they can pay out-of-state tuition at ISU as cheap or cheaper than staying in Illinois. Or so say many of my son's Illinois friends.
No idea on other states.
Bottom line is you have 18 years to prepare. How many other expenses in live give you such a great chance to be ready? | |
