Marion,ks | Farm income is counted as zero on Fafsa and if u have a business with less than 100 employes (have to check that our for sure) that income is counted as zero, in know. My wife has down the fafsa for our two kids and has gotten pell grants for both and very substantial at that. We have a trucking company with less than 10 employess and that income is zero also. Get a pin number ASAP and fill out the fafsa ASAP. You will need a pin number for you and your child both. If you have anymore kids graduating in the years to come they will have to have their own pins numbers as well but you will only have the one. If you have an accountant ( maybe to late for last year) talk with them. Between you and them (if you farm) can make your bottom line on your 1040 look good for the fafsa info. That is what my wife does every October. She sits down with our accountant and plans what we needs to do.
