| Don't feel bad it happens everywhere. I don't run around trying to rent ground out from under anyone but if they come to me I'm sure as heck not going to turn it down, they are coming to you for a reason, it's not your fault the other renter isn't keeping them happy regardless of being friends or not. Also, I had an instance very similar to yours this past winter, guy sold his cows and I offered, according to him, almost double what anyone else had offered to rent the pasture ground and he did the I'll think about it and get back to you routine. I pretty much knew aftert that, it wouldn't happen but had hopes till he started tearing out all the fence. It really pissed me off for quite a while, everyone always complains about how come nobody young wants to be involved in agriculture especially livestock and then something like this goes on but to each there own it's his ground and he can do what he wants. It just irked me cause the majority of it all couldn't even be farmed I just assumed they tore it all out so they didn't get tempted to get back in again. lol | |
