I searched the index of the Idaho administrative code, but could not find a section on farm leases. I don't have time to go through all the sections, but here is a link to the index: http://adminrules.idaho.gov/rules/current/02/index.html
Here is a link to the Idaho's rules on cropland leases for government lands: http://adminrules.idaho.gov/rules/current/20/0314.pdf
According to page 8, paragraph 1:
Termination of Existing Lease. In case of a change in land use to a use other than provided for under these rules, the existing lease may be terminated, in whole or in part, upon one hundred eighty (180) days written notice to the lessee. If a lease is terminated due to a change in land use, improvement credit will be addressed in accordance with these rules. (3-12-10)
So all that says is that if you are renting government land, they have to give you 180 days notice. It may not apply to privately owned land. I could not find any reference to private leases. Here is a link to a national database of case law on agricultural leases: http://nationalaglawcenter.org/assets/caseindexes/agleases.html
After you go to that website, hold your control button and the letter F on your keyboard. That will bring up a search box in your browser. Type in the word "termination". There are 82 cases that deal with lease termination. I did not go through all of them to find out if any of them are from Idaho.
