| Renting land in that situation I think you understood something could happen and apparently it did.
Most states have a fall and a spring notification period, most before March 1st and that is written formal notice, not a phone call.
Generally you need a written lease for property however in this situation a verbal contract might work. I'd talk to a lawyer, and I wouldn't agree to not farm it until told you can't. I'd go talk to a lawyer, and figure out what to do then. But again until formally notified by certified letter its yours, and you are under agreement to farm it. (basically if you don't farm it, you could still end up paying rent on it) | |
