its an perennial that comes back from roots/crowns and stolens. Atrazine is pretty good at killing things from seed and baby roots but it kills bermuda about as good as it kills mature hardwood trees. There have been plenty of bermuda hay fields that have had the weeds controlled in them with atrazine.
