I have never heard of anyone getting hurt stepping over a belt. I am not saying it never happened but I have heard numerous horror stories about PTO's but not belts. It is the wrapping action of the PTO that makes it so dangerous. I would say stepping over a belt would be more like stepping over a electric fence - you eventually learn to be carefull. I welcome an education on this if I am wrong - never too old to learn.
