One advantage of that is the fertility gets left where the feed was grown, and you will require less fertilizer. Arkansas has a magic 300 days grazing program they are working toward. Some are bettering that goal. With stockpiled forages you may never NEED to feed hay, (well seldom ever). Just watch your management or you will be buying hay from me. :-))
