Subject: Waitress loses job when pastor customer stiffs her for tip

Eastern Iowa

A pastor had brought a large party into an Applebees with numerous ways to break the check. The policy at the restaurant was to charge an 18% tip for large parties over 10. When the waitress submitted the bill to the pastor, the pastor wrote "0" on the tip line with the note, "I give God 10%, why give you 18%?" The waitress posted it on Reddit, because she claimed she found it amusing, no one ever used God as the excuse when they stiffed her for a tip before. When Applebee's found out, they fired her.

Who is most at fault in this scenario?

1. The waitress, for sharing the note on a public web site.
2. The pastor, for claiming a religious exemption from paying the recommended tip for her portion of the large party's tab.
3. The Applebee's management that fired the waitress.
