Ethanol production ramped up in the 2005-2006 timeframe as government incentives and cheap corn made it a no-brainer. Funny money drove it over the top (2008) but a combination of good demand and marginal weather has kept corn prices high and ethanol flowing. A true melt down like the last 1/3 of 2008 and we could have oil sub 50 and corn sub 5.
