| We use post anywhere from 5 to 8 inches depending on what type of lot it will be. All posts are at 6 1/2 centers. We have built several pens this way a got along fine. The smaller post have only been used for the kids 4 h calves so not a lot of pressure in that area. Here is a picture that was on wife's computer.
