On our s680, the flanged clamp (inside the dpf chamber) was not installed correctly from factory. Every time it cycled it would leak white smoke and have a diesel fuel smell. The neighbor's s670 had a crack in the pipe or filter as they call it.
It should not blow smoke during a cycle if everything is correct.
