Texas/New Mexico Stateline | I think Paul pretty much covered it. Same deal down here in NM. It may be a little difficult registering a basic letter or shape since there are thousands of registered brands across the whole state. And a basic letter will already be registered every which way and on every corner of an animal. I have also seen some interesting ones like wineglass shape or hay hook and the like advertised for couple grand$.
In TX it hardly ever happens because there is no state brand department. It is handled county by county at the clerk's office. May only be a couple hundred brands in each county. Not hard to register whatever you want.
