Pontiac, IL.
On ANY tractor, a swinging drawbar will allow you to turn shorter before the rear tire or track will get into the tongue of the implement being pulled, Years ago, when I was a kid and we harrowed in oats, my dad would always leave the drawbar in the swinging position to give more clearance when turning, thereby making it less likely for the tire to catch the chain or cable that was pulling the harrow and the harrow ending up in the seat with the tractor driver. Nowadays, If it is a track machine, it will keep from pushing the implement sideways when starting to turn.
