| One very important consideration when comparing yield between 30" and narrower rows, is that cutting swath width favors 30" rows. You can harvest a full swath 20' platform with 8-30" rows. When cutting solid seeded beans, you are harvesting about 19', which puts narrow row beans at a disadvantage of about 5%. This happens to be about the yield advantage that narrow row beans have in countless studies. I would like to encourage everyone else to keep the shift to 30" beans going, as this is like 5% soybean "set-aside", and therefore help my beans be worth more! | |
