Hello,
I'm pretty ignorant at understanding where the Jetstream is, let alone where it's going. We hear its way up in the Arctic? Anyway, this site seems to have a lot of sharp folks so I thought I'd ask you guys.
I'm in SD and we will not green up next Spring west of 281 without some rain or snow, which evaded us since June 22.
It looks like hurricanes Isaac and Sandy brought moisture to some areas, but it feels like it simply masked the long-term theme of dryness. Historical tree ring width patterns tell us it can forget to rain over 15 inches in the heart of the cornbelt for a consecutive five years every so often.... We are due. It's happened before, don't know why it can't do it in my lifetime.
Maybe I'm paranoid because my income depends on adequate precip. Anxious to hear what folks with a handle on long-term weather patterns think.
Thanks!
