TX | I have an opportunity to rent a pasture thats about 30 minutes from my house. A good friend of mine lives about a mile from it. My friend has around 60 of his own cows and does a good job with them. My friend might be interested in looking after them for me. What would be a fair rate to pay him for this? I would like to somehow base it on weaning percentage or some other production factor. The pasture can handle around 30 cows.I would be wintering the cows myself at my place so he wouldn't have to put up any hay for them or feed them in the winter. He would be responsible for calving them out, maintaining fences, keeping mineral out,etc. I would be paying for all inputs. Thanks. | |
