NW TX Panhandle | The auditors are hired by the seed company, whether it is P, S or M (don't know about the smaller companies). P, S, & M provide all their cutomer sales data to their particular audit firm that they use. Using the sales numbers provided, they flag the customers whose % of refuge seed is inadequate. From these customers, the audit letters go out. Invoices of all seed purchased can be used by the grower to show that an adequate % of refuge was actually purchased (multiple companies, etc...), The auditors know exactley how much seed you have bought from the particular company from which they are conducting the audit. As far as RIB, lack of refuge compliance is forcing this on the growers (if they plant traited seed). I don't like regulations anymore than the next guy. | |
