North Central Iowa | Caleb it looks like we have gotten the same amount of rain as you but in the last two weeks the ears went from looking good with potential to half ears on most fields. I have walked many fields and not just the ends. I tried to cut throught the fields trying to get a fair picture and over all I would say 80 bu. You will have some lower and some higher but that is what I will say the average is. I had an agronimist stop by and take and look and he thinks I am optimistic but did say they were some of the best fields he looked at on the day he stopped. The 1.2" of rain on Saturday will help the beans but I am hoping for 30 bu. If you look the pod counts just arent there this year and we have a lot of 2 bean pods and remember beans are based on daylight so we are going to be running short on time to get blossoms out there and turned into pods. | |
