thumb of michigan | A 20k trailer today is going to be worth almost that much if not more 5 years down the road if it is aluminum. A 30k truck today is going to be worth 10k 5 years down the road. That truck will do the same job for you for a lot less money. The hopper will cost you more then than now. I bought a new steel hopper in 97 for just under 20 and sold it for about 3 in 2010. Painted it and had new brakes and only had 70000 miles on it. The Wilson hopper I should have bought in 97 for 25k cost me 24 in 2010 when I bought a used 2001 model. I would have had a low mileage trailer that only I used for the same money and not had the loss from the steel one, so in effect I paid double. Don't make the same mistake. Fleets only run trucks to a certain age then trade. Trailers get run until wore out pretty much. Lots of good cheap truck show up, but a good cheap trailer in never cheap in the long run. | |
