West MI
I agree with these guys on the newer trailer/older truck scenario. I don't run over the interstate much, most of my driving in within 2-3 counties on county roads. I bought a new trailer and an army surplus M915A truck with 22,000 original miles on it. Super easy to maintain, no major repairs to date(and don't expect any) perfect for the field to the bins to the elevator. Bought truck for $2500 + new batteries + paint job = less than $5k invested. Works great for me, with new steel trailer I have less than $26k invested total. Truck has Cummins 400 BCIII, Allison 5 speed auto, 4:10 Eaton rears with Detroit Lockers on Hendrickson rear suspension.
