Sort of Central to North Central Iowa
We have a 5 ton unit with vertical loops, 6 by 125' deep. Thought about going horizontal, contractor talked us out of it. I am glad we spent the money and went vertical. It probably didn't cost that much more, anyway. Ten years now with no issues. Our house is an older farm house, and the vertical wells tore up a lot less yard than trying to get to a field with a horizontal. Don't have to worry about hitting the loops with a backhoe, etc. unless digging in the yard in front of the house.
