Toyota's are not especially known for their front brakes. I have an 02 Toyota Tundra and would never own another one. Also have an 02 Dodge 3500 and a 93 Dodge 350, I have to take off the front calipers on the 93 every year and shine up the rails or they don't seem to work well. Dodge changed the design on the front brakes by 02 and it has awesome braking power. I think the braking systems are identical on the 3/4 and 1 ton Dodge pickups with 4 wheel discs. Are for the 02. In fact, almost everything is the same, at least through 02. I've grossed over 40,000 several times pulling a 30 ' trailer. I would second finding a newer Dodge. I would also suggest checking the brakes on your trailer.
