+1 on the Argon. FYI, the AL needs to be CLEAN to weld without looking like a mad mud dobber got hold of the gun. We use some aluma-brite, (the stuff for cleaning AL 18 wheeler trailers) and a small SS bristle brush, then rinse with water. Sometimes cleaning it 'dry' with a SS brush just smears the dirt into the metal.
