Spool gun, to me much easier to get the hang of, quicker and less money to get into. We have both and can't remember the last time the TIG was pulled out other than to show someone how it works. Also with TIG if you don't use it often it will be hard to do intricate parts. With spool gun its like using a MIG on steel.
